From Beyoncé’s legendary performance to Cardi B still killin’ it while pregnant, weekend 1 was one for the books. Not only did celebs shine on stage, but their outfits were also on point. Check out some of those who were serving looks in the desert this past weekend!

Beyoncé

Of course we have to start with the QUEEN, who gave us the performance of a lifetime with her highly anticipated headline spot. Not only did she give a wig-snatching performance of her greatest hits, reunite with Destiny’s Child, and slay a dance number with her sister Solange, but she wore 5 different custom Balmain outfits while doing it.

Coachella was officially renamed #Beychella after this performance and outfits.

Rihanna

While Rihanna was front row of Beyoncé’s show supporting her like all great girl bosses do, she also gave us 3 unforgettable outfits throughout the weekend as well. She worked with stylist Jahleel Weaver to give us the ultimate festival inspiration that is far from basic.

On Friday, she wore an all white ‘60s inspired outfit with a modern twist. Then, she completely switched it up and wore this suede camel-colored number with dramatic over-the-knee Uggs that I’m pretty sure only she could rock.

On the last day, Rihanna stepped out in a knit Gucci balaclava, zipper detail sweatshirt, and snake print pants. She was also dripping in jewelry and completed the look with a Gucci cross body bag. How she wore this outfit is beyond me, because it was hot af. But, she’s Rihanna so she can pull anything off.

Kendall Jenner

Amongst all of the very elaborate outfits, Kendall Jenner kept it sporty and chic in a black bandeau top, cargo pants, sneakers, and a fanny pack. Outfits like this prove that you don’t have to follow the standard “Coachella” look, and can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and cute!

Millie Bobby Brown

Millie is only 14 years old, but I’m extremely jealous of her style and how cool she is. Her Coachella outfits were super fun and trendy, and I need this denim jumpsuit ASAP.

Justine Skye

Justine definitely stood out in the crowds wearing this matching newsprint inspired set. With voluminous sleeves, a cute Nike belt and sneakers, this outfit looked cozy and fly.

What were your favorite outfits from Coachella Weekend 1? Who did we forget? Let us know in the comments below!

Coachella -v- Bonnaroo -v- Lollapalooza: Music Festival Fashion Look Book! https://liveglam.com/coachella-v-bonnaroo-v-lollapalooza-music-festival-fashion-look-book/ https://liveglam.com/coachella-v-bonnaroo-v-lollapalooza-music-festival-fashion-look-book/#respond Tue, 03 Apr 2018 23:00:04 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10004668090 When it comes to music festival fashion- the only rule to remember is that there are no rules at all! Being able to spend a weekend in the most creative, outlandish, skimpy, or colorful outfit of your rockstar dreams is one of the funnest parts of a music festival! Whether you’re a Coachella queen, Roovian goddess, or Lolla lover- there’s a music festival with the vibes for you! If endless good times, high-fives, and playing dress-up while listening to dope music from all genres sounds like a good time to you..? Check out our Coachella – vs- Bonnaroo -vs- Lollapalooza  2018 music festival fashion guide to get you inspired!

Coachella (April 13-15, 21-22)

Coachella is likely the most fashion-forward of the 3! It takes place is of sunny Southern California in April before the temps are too blazin’ hot and the evenings are still on the cool side. You can camp or grab a room for this festival- so pack accordingly, especially if you’re going the tent route! Wear your fashion in layers so you have something for the warm sunny day and cool evening. Grab a denim jacket with a stand-out lace cutlet feature or other dope patches and embellishments! This 90’s grunge look is making its 21st century comeback- rock it with a pair of super cute sunnies and some ornate cowgirl boots.

Pair your trendy Coachella fashion with something bright, colorful and fun on your face! Don’t forget the glitter- I’m talking head to toe shimmer boo! And I’m positive you can expect to see a rainbow of hairstyles this year, too, so don’t be scared to pop out that bright teal wig you’ve been saving for a right moment!

Bonnaroo (June 7-10)

Roo is a magical place where high-fives rule the land and with all the crochet, bandanas, swimsuits and more it seems like an ABC party is going on. You can really wear anything you like at this long weekend of debauchery as long as you wear it with good vibes and a smile! Be prepared to camp out at this middle Tennessee festival in the hot & humid southern summer. I recommend about 4 (battery operated!) fans per tent and large coolers of ice. Keep it cool in some cute crochet crops and comfy shorts! Don’t forget sun protection, and I would recommend a cute floppy hat to save your skin in the daytime.

Keep your face makeup on the light side for this sweat-fest of fun, but don’t skimp on any festie magic you can conjure! Tribal dots, glitter bombs, rainbow everything, and glowing on top- have fun and definitely don’t play it safe!

Lollapalooza (August 2-4)

If you’re ready to get your rock face on then Lollapalooza is the festival for you! This Chicago based festival happens in the middle of the city in Grant park with sick views of the Chicago skyline. You’ll need to find lodging to go to Lolla, so you better book early (like 6 months ago), but at least you have the pleasure of showering daily and sleeping more than 6 inches off the ground in a comfy bed! Throw on a sexy rocker-tee style dress with some grungy boots to take on the city of Chicago. Rock it with some bold jewelry to really set the mood right!

Go glam at Lolla, you are in the city after all! Rock a sexy cat eye or a bit of smoke, and be sure to pair it with a bright, bold lippie. You can rock a funky coral-red, like Poppy from April LiveGlam KissMe lippies or a sexy, satin pink like Butterfly, or go funky with Soft Mist metallic nude color!

Get your music festival fashion style guide going with our tips! Add your own flare or go crazy, just do you and have fun. That’s what the festie-vibes are all about! Tell me your favorite music festivals in the comments.

Our Favorite Looks from the 2018 Golden Globes https://liveglam.com/favorite-looks-2018-golden-globes/ https://liveglam.com/favorite-looks-2018-golden-globes/#respond Tue, 09 Jan 2018 00:51:14 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10003087317 The 2018 Golden Globe Awards was full of women’s empowerment, Oprah, and 50 shades of black dresses. While the evening had many memorable moments, we’re sharing with you the most memorable looks on the red carpet from some of our favorite stars.

To support the Time’s Up movement, actresses wore all black to stand in solidarity with victims of sexual harassment and assault. However, no one looked the same in the sea of black dresses. Everyone brought their own flare which still made for a very glamorous red carpet. Here are some of our favorite looks:

1. Insecure writer and actress Issa Rae brought some sexiness to the Golden Globes with this stunning Prabal Gurung metallic dress, complete with sleek hair, a smokey eye, and an emerald necklace to compliment the dress’ plunging V neckline. Hello legs!

2. Kendall Jenner floated through the red carpet in a couture dress by Giambattista Valli. This ruffled tulle, high-low gown was definitely a statement piece and made the model look fabulous.

3. Angelina Jolie had some fun with her black Versace gown by rocking some feathery sleeves and a sheer neckline. Not only does this dress look super comfortable, but she looked gorgeous in it too (as always).

4. Zoe Kravitz is the perfect example of less is more. In this sleek, fitted dress, pixie cut, and oversized emerald earrings, Zoe slayed the red carpet. And, she reminds us that you can never go wrong with a red lip!

5. Stranger Things star and the straight up adorable Millie Bobby Brown looked super stylish in her Calvin Klein poofy minidress paired with sparkly kitten heels. The 13-year-old has grown up right before our eyes and is already giving these veteran stars a run for their money on the red carpet!

6. Viola Davis looked striking on the red carpet, rocking her natural hair in a glorious fro and a sleek, Brandon Maxwell dress. This show-stopping look had everyone talking on twitter, and for good reason!

7. And, of course, we can’t forget about the queen of the night (and maybe of the United States), Oprah Winfrey. Not only was her acceptance speech for her Cecil B. DeMille Award truly inspiring and exactly what the world needed to hear, but she looked beautiful in a Versace dress while giving it too.

Name one person who can rock prescription glasses on the red carpet and still look this fierce… we’ll wait.

What were your favorite looks and moments from the 2018 Golden Globes? Spill in the comments!

Microblading: All you Need to Know About This Brow Technique https://liveglam.com/microblading-brow-technique/ https://liveglam.com/microblading-brow-technique/#respond Sat, 11 Mar 2017 00:43:24 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10000303886 There’s a new trend taking the beauty world by storm, and it’s one you’ll want to get on board with. Eyebrows have been a huge topic of conversation in recent years. These days, the fuller the better (goodbye, pencil-thin nightmares of the millennium!), which means natural brows are in. Yep, we can finally rock what our mamas gave us… Well, with a little help, of course. Enter microblading: the brow technique you never knew you needed.

Watch the microblading process here:

Credit: Tiffany Lee of BeautyStyleList

What is microblading?

The process is a form of eyebrow tattooing, but the ink doesn’t go as deep as tattoos. It’s semi-permanent and lasts up to three years (18 months is pretty average). Basically, the microblading artist uses a special microblading pen to draw in the individual strokes, one by one. It might hurt a tad, depending on your pain tolerance, since it’s a form of tattooing. It feels kind of like little scratches.

The first step takes an hour alone, which is when the artist draws the shape with a removable pencil. You can choose your ideal brow shape. Then, it takes another hour to meticulously fill in the brow. The process should take about two hours total, but the results are so worth it. You end up with extremely natural-looking brows anyway you’d like them.

What’s the healing time?

Your brows will look perfect immediately after the process is complete (post-procedure selfie, anyone?), but you’ll want to wait about a month to go swimming, wash your face with water, and rub your eyebrows. For about a week, mild swelling and redness is normal, but you definitely don’t have to hide. You’ll probably also want to schedule a follow-up appointment about a month after your appointment because the healing process can take between 25 to 30 days. After that period, it’s recommended to get a little touch-up. Overall, though, it’s a lot lower maintenance than eyebrow extensions and eyelash extensions.

How much does microblading cost?

Spending around $500 is the low-end for microblading. You can expect the procedure will run you about $700-$800. But remember: you’re getting one to three years of fuss-free, on-fleek eyebrows. The microblading doesn’t smudge, so just think about all that money you’ll save on eyebrow pencils and other tools over the course of three years.

Who should get microblading?

As microblading expert and trainer at Eye Define New York Nadia Afanaseva explains the technique, “Microblading is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, or fill-in over-plucked brows.” So, yeah, basically all of us who weren’t blessed at birth with literally perfect, full brows.

So, what do you think? Is microblading worth it? Bella Thorne swears by it, just sayin’. I know my brows could use some beefing up—if I don’t fill them in, it’s like I don’t even have any! Maybe I’ll put the procedure on my wish list. What about you, would you ever try microblading?

What Is Balayage Hair Color – Celebrity Hairstyles Samples https://liveglam.com/what-is-balayage-hair-color/ https://liveglam.com/what-is-balayage-hair-color/#comments Wed, 08 Feb 2017 19:22:04 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10000152985 If you’ve been paying attention to the world of Hollywood hair, you know that a coloring style known as balayage is making waves in the city of Angels. You might be wondering – what’s all the fuss over this new hair trend? What is balayage hair color? Well, beauty mavens, allow us to break it down for you with a little help from our favorite celebrities!

What Is Balayage?

First of all – what is balayage hair color? Balayage is a French word describing the process of sweeping (or brushing) color onto hair. It may sound similar to the standard method of hair coloring using foils, but it is so much better. Balayage hair color is all about achieving natural highlights – specifically, highlights that aren’t confined to perfectly spaced out squares of foil.

When you get your hair colored using the balayage method, you’ll notice that the stylist isn’t using any foil at all, but is rather taking strands from your bare head and working with them individually – with no extra layers getting in the way. The hairstyles that come from balayage hair color are more loved because they look and feel incredibly natural, and don’t have that typical “this came from a box” look about them. Now that you know what this hair color trend is all about, here’s a little celebrity inspiration to get you thinking about your next trip to the salon!

1. Halle Berry

If you’ve got short hair, you’ll want to embrace your choppy locks for this Halle Berry inspired balayage look. The natural waviness and bouncy texture of her hair make it perfect to achieve and even more natural looking balayage hair color.

2. Chrissy Teigen

If you are still wondering “What is balayage hair, and is there a proper way to do it?”, stop! If Chrissy’s hairstyle is any indication, balayage hair color is all about doing what feels right to you and your hair. She decided to go for an all-over highlight look, and we think it looks ah-mazing.

3. Jessica Biel

Her husband might have brought sexy back, but Jessica sure knows how to bring sultry back. She’s been known for her hairstyles over the years that accent her long, naturally gorgeous brown locks, and this style is no exception. She opted for a bit more “ombre-inspired” balayage color, where she focused on the roots and underbelly of her hair instead of giving attention to the top.

4. Jennifer Aniston

We all know that Jen is famous for her trendy hairstyles through the years. Recently, she’s gone back to blonde and she decided to give her color a little update with some balayage. She decided to only sweep the color along the ends of her hair, giving a subtle refresh on her already classic do.

5. Jennifer Lopez

This hairstyle shows off exactly what balayage is about. Jennifer Lopez looks like she was just kissed by the sun, hair included, with her perfectly golden-tan tresses. This balayage style is all over but focuses on creating a lighter effect as you go down the hair towards the ends.

What Is Balayage Hair Color? It’s Your Hair Color!

We already mentioned this, but we are going to say it again – balayage hair color is all about achieving a natural highlight to your already beautiful hair. What makes this hairstyle so popular is it’s ability to remain completely individual. Unlike standard highlights, this hairstyle is all about taking your bare hair and enhancing it’s natural beauty. Think of it as minimalist makeup for your head!

So, have any of you gotten down with the balayage color trend recently? Share your pics with us on Instagram by using our hashtag, #LiveGlam! As always, don’t forget to leave a comment down below!

Memorable Hairstyles: Best & Trendiest The Past 20 Years https://liveglam.com/memorable-hairstyles-best-trendiest/ https://liveglam.com/memorable-hairstyles-best-trendiest/#comments Tue, 31 Jan 2017 01:49:16 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10000119831 Over the years, we’ve seen some pretty crazy hairstyles. We’ve also seen a few unique, amazing hairdos that have stood the test of time. To celebrate our mad love for all things hair, we decided to take a look back on some of the most memorable hairstyles in the last 20 years.

Photo from Marie Clare

1. The Rachel

She’ll be there for you – if you’re from the 90’s! Who didn’t want to be Rachel Green? She was the queen of wit and sarcastic grace and was beautiful and popular, much like her real life counterpart, Jennifer Aniston. This famous “Rachel” hairstyle was incredibly popular in the late 90’s. It’s short, choppy, and most importantly, ridiculously easy to take care of. We vote to bring it back – how about you?

2. The Pitt

Before Michelle Williams and Ginnifer Goodwin sported their sexy pixie cuts, we 90’s gals knew it as “The Pitt”. Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow famously wore this hairstyle during their time as Hollywood power couple (you know, pre-Bey and Jay).

3. The Baby One More Time

You can’t have a list of memorable hairstyles without throwing a little Britney in the mix. Her “Baby One More Time” braids became an instant hit (pun intended). Between the bright pink ribbon and pastel pink fluff on top, how can you go wrong?

4. The Gisele

Gisele Bündchen brought waves into the new century with her classic ’00 look. The beachy-look had been around for quite some time, but made waves after she strutted her stuff on the runway with these sexy locks.

5. The Sex and the City

As we entered the new century, we found ourselves leaving behind the sultry tresses of Gisele to chase after the short, sleek style of none other than Miss Carrie Bradshaw.

6. The Ombre

When it comes to memorable hairstyles, ombre would be one that has had it’s turn in the spotlight more than once. Before it resurfaced in the early 2010s, it was popular in the early 2000s with pop divas like Britney, Christina, and of course, Jessica Simpson.

7. The Bob Kat

When Katie Holmes chopped off her luscious locks in 07, we all had a minor panic attack. Luckily, it didn’t last long once we realized the powers of the face-framing bob. Toss in a little blunt side fringe and you’ve got a chic, celebrity style.

8. The Gaga Bow

We just couldn’t resist putting this memorable hairstyle on our list. Lady Gaga wore this large and in charge hair bow in 2009, proving once and for all that hairstyles can be a big statement piece if you let them!

9. The Hair Whip

Willow Smith taught us a valuable lesson in 2010 – it’s okay to whip your hair back and forth! Whether you were a fan of the song or not, you have to appreciate the mad creativity in this memorable hairstyle. We wish we were that cool that young.

MTV VMA’s Best Beat Awards https://liveglam.com/mtv-vmas-best-beat-awards/ https://liveglam.com/mtv-vmas-best-beat-awards/#respond Tue, 30 Aug 2016 01:14:55 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=9999599327 We are still fawning over the sexy red carpet looks from this weekend at the MTV VMA’s! Who else watches just to see the hottest new trends?! (and to watch Queen B slaying that Lemonade performance!) We painstakingly picked a few of our favorites (and let’s just say, narrowing the list was not easy!) to show you lovely folks how to get your own red carpet beat.

Soft, smoky eyes, dewy skin, and sparkle were all the rage this year. We’re gonna show you 4 looks– Kim K’s soft glam, Nicki Minaj’s cat-eye and glowing skin, Stella Maxwell’s fiery red smokey eye, and Holland Roden’s golden, glittery roots!

We got to see bombshell Kim Kardashian rocking a wet, beachy glam look that tiptoes on effortless for this year’s VMAs. We are so used to seeing Kim with the full glam and chiseled contour, we are loving this change of pace. Makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic gave Kim this natural glow using the Laura Mercier face illuminators in Addiction and Devotion…. Everywhere. Go ahead and bathe in that! Keep your contour light and blended to sell this natural glam. Try a color that is just 1 (or 2 at most) shades darker than your skin tone to get this beautiful sun-kissed bronzing. She’s sporting natural lashes and no liner! So keep it light on the eyes, (you can even use your contour shade here to bronze them!) and a bold mascara (try Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara). Finish off with a nude glossy lip (ColourPop Fairy Floss or Tight Fit are perfect!) and some just-stepped-out-of-the-shower-lookin-this-fly kinda soft waves.

Next let’s look at Nicki’s sexy cat eye! This look is a classic that anyone can look good in, and also not what we’re used to seeing on this bold, colorful celeb. To recreate Nicki’s look by makeup artist Sheika Daley, you’ll need a black matte liner (try Nyx Matte Liquid liner!), bold cat-eyed lashes (Huda Beauty “Bridget” lashes are perfect), and some illuminator (Nyx liquid face illuminator will give you the glow for any skin tone)!  Pop a bit of a crease color on the eye to give it dimension, then go for a dramatic and elongated winged eyeliner. Finish off with your lashes and an illuminator on your cheekbones, forehead, and wherever else you wanna glow. Spray your face with a setting spray like Mac Fix+ to get a long lasting and dewy finish!

Now can we please talk about the gorgeous red smokey eye on Stella Maxwell?! Makeup artist Hung Vanngo made this look effortlessly beautiful on the blonde Victoria’s Secret Angel. To steal her look, you need a matte red eyeshadow (try Sugarpill Love+ for super pigmentation!) and a matte black eyeshadow to deepen the crease (Sugarpill Bulletproof is perfect). Apply the red shade first using a fluffy blending brush to get that smooth seamless color. Then using your black eyeshadow on a pencil brush, deepen up the crease and outer corner. Go back with your fluffy brush and blend, deepen, and blend more until you get the perfect balance of seamless, dark red. Finish your look with a black liner in your waterline (Anastasia Darkside waterproof gel pencil will last all night!) and some feathery lashes.

This last VMA style on the Teen Wolf drama queen Holland Roden is gonna glitz up your night!! These golden roots by makeup artist Elle Leary are straight from the hands of King Midas. You can get your sparkle on at home using a gold, glitter hairspray (like Joico Gold Dust Shimmer Spray!). You can also rock your own DIY glitter roots by spraying hairspray where you want to sparkle and dusting some loose glitter on while it’s still wet. Finish your look with a bit of glitter liner on the eyes to tie it all together (try Urban Decay Heavy Metal liner!).

We’ve got the 411 on 2 fresh nineties inspired looks from @theerealkarlaJ and @zachzenga.

We’re gonna bust out this glam look by Karla J first! She’s doing a soft smokey shadow with a bright highlight and super angled brows, think glammed-up Clueless girls, for reference. She finished her look with a Tarte Naughty Nude brown liquid lipstick (doesn’t get much more 90s than that!). Pop some cute pigtails in and you’re basically ready to hit up the local skating rink or join a pop band!

Our next nineties throwback is taking you to school, or maybe it’s just something you took to school….

We’ve got a Lisa Frank inspired makeup is all that and a bag of chips! (cheetoh’s, probably!) Zach created this multi-colored look using Suva Beauty, Mehron eyeshadow palettes, and Mehron Paradise AQ transforming into the foxiest rainbow cheetah we’ve seen yet. Halloween is close(ish) and definitely in planning range! Try this fun and colorful look to brighten up your Halloween, or if you just feel your inner-rainbow is needing to break free. 😉
