On May 25th, Minneapolis resident George Floyd was killed by a police officer and it was captured on tape, sparking outrage all over the world. His name lives on with more than 1,000 individuals who are killed by the police every single year. For generations, people of color experience trauma, unequal justice and systemic oppression in both public and private forums. This is not a new epidemic. Historically black Americans are killed by law enforcement more than twice the rate of their white counterparts. 

At LiveGlam, we believe now is not a time to be silent. That’s why we’re pledging our time, money and voice to the #BlackLivesMatter movement. We have chosen to work with Campaign Zero in their efforts to promote the systemic change our country needs. Our founders, Dhar and Laura, have already made a personal donation to the cause. Additionally, from June 1st – 15th, LiveGlam will be donating 100% of our Shop profits to Campaign Zero.  This will help to call on local, state and federal lawmakers to take immediate action. 

Campaign Zero utilizes data-driven policy for long term solutions in ending violence and holding police accountable. To learn more about how Campaign Zero is advocating for change, visit them here. 

This is the time to take a stand. Together, we can channel our outrage and energy into effective action for equality.

On August 3rd, we lost 22 precious lives due to a tragic shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. With many members of our #LiveGlamFam being from El Paso, we wanted to show support to a city so close to our hearts by launching our first ever non-liquid lip product, a Lip Crayon, named “El Paso Strong”, and donating 100% of the profits made from it. We’re so grateful to announce that the check has officially been delivered, and we couldn’t have done it without every single one of you.

With the help of our Glammers and Babygirls, we sold out of our lip crayon within 2 hours and were able to personally deliver a $25,000 check to the El Paso Community Foundation. During an emotional trip to El Paso, Dhar and Laura, the founders of LiveGlam, met with victims of the Walmart shooting. Leslie and Alex also joined them to donate 300 backpacks and school supplies to a local school to continue their efforts in giving back to a community that means so much to LiveGlam.

“We rise by lifting others” As most of you know, after the El Paso tragedy struck, we wanted to do something to help the families of the victims. With your help, we decided to come out with a @liveglam.co #ElPasoStrong lippie & with the the help of @leeexlieee & @vlexgalindo we were able to raise awareness about the lippie and raise $25,000 dollars @dhar.mann & I flew to El Paso for the weekend so we could personally deliver the donations along with Leslie and Alex. Today we had the pleasure of dropping off the check at the El Paso Community Foundation ( @elpasocf), where the funds will be used to help the families of the victims. The four of us also decided to help out at a local school (Hillside Elementary) by donating 300 backpacks as well as school supplies. Our hearts have never felt fuller. We know no amount of donation can take away the pain, but even if we can alleviate some of the suffering for victim’s families it’s all worth it. We love you guys #ElPasoStrong

Day 1 vs Today… not much has changed except for Alex’s hair and Leslie’s preggo belly – We’ve all worked hard and played hard together… but today was an even more special day because we were able to give back to the people of El Paso- a city that has shown both @laurag_143 and I so much love. Through the support of our amazing #LiveGlamFam we were able to donate $25k to help victim’s of the El Paso shooting and we also personally donated school supplies to help local kids. This whole experience has shown me that making money is great, but making a difference is what life’s really about. November is known as the month of giving and being thankful. In order to celebrate that, we wanted to introduce you all to the soul of LiveGlam. For the entire month of November, each LiveGlam team will be coming together, giving back, and giving thanks in various ways. Each week we’ll be spotlighting numerous members of our team to show how they #livebeyondtheglam.

This first week’s theme is helping children in need, and we’ll be spotlighting our Remote team. These team members include those who don’t work directly in our studio in Downtown LA!

Together We Rise

Starting with our lovely LiveGlam Influencer Manager, Kaitlin gave back by making a donation to Together We Rise in honor of it being National Adoption Month:

“The month of November is near and dear to my heart because it is National Adoption Month. My brother and I were both adopted at a very young age and we are extremely fortunate to have been brought into a loving family. Not all children are as fortunate as we have been, which is heartbreaking. I have decided to make a donation in LiveGlam’s name to Together We Rise. This money will be used to help foster children and families in need with general necessities, etc. Take a second to check out their site, just reading some of the statistics alone can be eye opening!” – Kaitlin 

Alex’s Lemonade Stand

Next, we have our amazing Business Development Manager, Alex. To help children in need, Alex is donating to and participating in Alex’s Lemonade Stand’s Lemon Run on Nov. 12th to help benefit research and care for children with cancer.

She and the LiveGlam team also donated a backpack that supplies two children with school supplies they need to the Childhelp Backpack Drive in Philadelphia, PA.

Food Donation in Portugal 

Our beloved Data Scientist and Analyst, Rodrigo, participated in this month of giving by donating food to a local Portuguese organization that helps give kids an amazing Christmas meal and presents.

Flock of Hope

LiveGlam’s wonderful HR Manager, Melody, donated a “Flock of Hope” to a family in the Philippines with 3 children through Heifer.org. This gives a family chicks, ducks, or goslings, and training on caring for the flock. In turn, the family gets food, income, and fertilization of crops. Egg production beings almost immediately, which means malnourished children will now have something to eat. Eggs and poultry can also be sold at markets, raising much-needed funds for medicine, clothing and more.

“I love animals and when they can be used to change lives and futures, it thrills me! Heifer.org allows you to give various animals to families with children in desperate need in other countries.” – Melody 

Feeding Children in the Philippines 

A member of our incredible Customer Happiness team, Belle, gives back regularly, joined by her husband. Her November initiative is feeding over 200 children near her hometown in the Philippines. This month, our entire Customer Happiness team is joining her in donations and support of this gracious act.

Bicycle Angels

Last but certainly not least, our hilarious Server Manager from the Tech Team, Pat, donated to Bicycle Angels. This organization provides loaner bikes and service to kids at no cost to them. This allows them to be mobile, healthy, and continue to learn and explore their areas.
