It’s like water to me, no, it’s like oxygen!

You see, I’m one of those people who looks sick, exhausted, or post-crying if I’m not wearing something on my lashes. So I was extra excited when LiveGlam announced the new Pretty Feathered mascara! Gimme gimme gimme.

If mascara is reasonably new to you or you’re in need of some tips to maximize the product,  I’ve got ya. Here are my top tips for applying mascara.

Practice the wiggle

You want to aim to get the whole lash covered, from root to tip. The way to do this is by tilting your head backward and placing the mascara wand at the base of your lashes. Now wiggle the wand side to side as you take it up toward the tips. This wiggle motion will transfer the product into the lashes and thicken the roots.

Try curling

If you have relatively straight lashes, using an eyelash curler can make a world of difference. It perks the lashes up, making them appear longer, and makes your eyes look wider and more awake.

Try powder

This trick is an old one, but I swear it works. After you apply your first coat of mascara, use a small brush to dust a little translucent powder onto the lashes. Now add a second coat (don’t worry if they look ashy before the second coat!). This will make them thicker, longer, and fluffier.

Give the tips some love

Once you have done the wiggle technique and have a couple of coats under your belt, go back in and add a little extra love to the tips. This will ensure luscious length.

Start with the bottom lashes

If you’re applying mascara to the bottom lashes, start with them first. This ensures you don’t transfer wet mascara onto your eyelids from the top lashes when you do the bottom lashes.

Tame oily lids

Mascara transferring onto your lids to create a smudgy mess is a real pain in the A. This can happen especially if you have oily lids as the oil can break down the mascara on contact. Use a longwear cream shadow topped with a little powder on the lids to ensure any oil is dealt with.

How To Choose The Right Pair of Faux Eyelashes https://liveglam.com/how-to-choose-the-right-pair-of-faux-eyelashes/ https://liveglam.com/how-to-choose-the-right-pair-of-faux-eyelashes/#respond Wed, 14 Sep 2022 05:30:02 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043366149 The shape of your peepers 1) determines how your eyeshadow will look, 2) it definitely affects the direction of your winged liner 🥴, and 3) it can either emphasize or distract from your falsies.

Before we jump into the world of eye shapes, can we just appreciate our gorgeous, gorgeous lashes?

Our lashes are:

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-Free
  • 100% Faux Mink
  • Lightweight & Comfortable
  • Pure Handmade
  • Long-lasting Curve

Your eyes deserve to be a show-stopping spectacle, girlfran! So, find your shape below and let’s get these winkers looking their best!

For the most part, your eye shape will fall into one of the following shapes:

1) Almond

2) Round

3) Monolid

4) Hooded

5) Downturned

6) Upturned

Almond

Totally not trying to take the mystery out of a name, but almond eyes have the shape of…an almond. This eye shape is symmetrical (lucky you!), so really any lash style is complimentary for almond eyes.

To get you started on your journey of lashes, check out these styles below:

Round

If you have a round shape, you probably noticed you can see more white space in your eyes. This is because there is more circumference to your eye shape, so the white of your eyes fills in a bit more space…but less science and more beauty talk 🤣. Those with round-shaped eyes prefer a more “lifted” look – to achieve this, we suggest our So Ka-ute lashes.

Monolid

There is often confusion between monolid and hooded eye shapes – monolid simply means the crease of your eye is more flat than other eye shapes. The key to great looking lashes on monolid eyes is curl, curl, curl! Did you know you can use an eyelash curler on your falsies? We recommend using our Eye Candy lashes, and don’t forget to curl!

Hooded

On hooded eyes, your lid is hidden under the “hood” AKA: the top part of your eye. Using a lash style that is more pronounced opens up your eye, try our Boss Babe lashes. This charming eye shape also does really well with a curled look, so don’t be afraid to swipe on some mascara and put your eyelash curler to use!

Downturned

If the outer corners of your eyes turn downward, then you are rocking a lovely downturned eye shape. Typically, having more linear eyes suits a lot of makeup looks. If this is what you are going for, we recommend our Suite Dreams lashes, which offers a flared style.

Upturned

Upturned eyes are opposite of downturned eyes, in that the outer corners of your beautiful eyes are lifted upward! For a more feathery-styled look, try our Make It Rain lashes and rock those falsies 😉.

Hold on, Honey: Let’s take a minute to say that all of these recommendations are just that…recommendations based on what is known to compliment eye shapes. But here at LiveGlam, we believe that you should wear what makes YOU feel good – ultimately, that’s what matters most!

Now that you know which style suits you best, the next step is how to apply lashes.

Tips For Wearing A Navy Statement Eye https://liveglam.com/tips-for-wearing-a-navy-statement-eye/ https://liveglam.com/tips-for-wearing-a-navy-statement-eye/#respond Fri, 01 Apr 2022 22:30:52 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043274454 The shade ‘Sapphire’ in the You’re a Gem palette has got me in a navy flurry of smoky, midnight-blue eye looks. The shimmery, deep navy is a welcome change from the go-to deep brown I’ve been slapping on for months now.

Blue eyeshadow has had so many moments in the fashion spotlight, from Cleopatra to Twiggy to the far more recent Dua Lipa and Kerry Washington. Dark navy shadow offers a sexy, mysterious, and feature-worthy look without veering into the bright territory.

However, unless you’re pretty seasoned, dark navy can be slightly tricky to work with. It has a tendency to skip, become muddy, or end up looking like an unfortunate bruise. The bright side is that with a few easy tips, you can nail that navy!

Here are some beginner-friendly tips for wearing a navy eye!

  1. Start with the eyes first. Blue-based pigments (especially dark ones) can really mess up your base if shadow falls down onto your face. To avoid smudging deep blue all over your under-eyes and cheeks, do your eyes first and your base second. No need to worry about fall-out as you can simply swipe it away with makeup remover. Voila, gorgeous navy eyes and a clean canvas for your base makeup.

  1. Pick the right brush. A flat, stubby brush is going to place product exactly where you want it to go without flicking it everywhere like a fluffier brush might. Lay down your color with a dense, flat brush or even your finger, then use a clean, fluffy brush to blend.

  1. Create a cream! Use a mixing medium (like MAC Fix Plus) to turn your navy shadow into a cream on the back of your hand. Then, use a pencil brush to draw the mixture along your lash lines for a mess-free, wet-look blue line. You could also use a finger to dab the color over the lid before using a clean fluffy brush to blend.

  1. A bronzer, taupe shadow, or chocolate shadow can go a long way to soften a navy look and give your eyes a little more depth. Try smudging navy into the upper and lower lash lines, then buff bronze/taupe shadow into the crease and just along the edges of the navy shadow.

  1. Experiment at night, right before taking off your makeup for bed. You’re just about to wash it off anyway, so it’s the perfect time to practice! You can practice using different brushes, placement, and blending techniques to find the best navy look for you.

Silver Glitter Eyeshadow Makeup Looks To Try https://liveglam.com/silver-glitter-eyeshadow-makeup-looks-to-try/ https://liveglam.com/silver-glitter-eyeshadow-makeup-looks-to-try/#respond Sat, 12 Mar 2022 00:00:25 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043264362 As soon as you swatch the shade ‘Opal’ in the You’re a Gem palette you’ll feel your inner 90s child awakening. Silver glitter is welcome any season, any time, whether it’s a teeny sprinkle or a full-coverage slab of glitz.

Here are our new favorite silver eyeshadow looks to try.

Silver Streak down the Center of the Lid

Remember when Kim Kardashian went to the Met Gala in that latex “wet dress”? Well, it was her eyes I was mesmerized by that day. She had a sheeny, glittery shadow down the center of her lids that gave the impression of sun glinting on water.

You can recreate this look easily! Buff a bronzer or chocolate-brown shadow through the crease and into the lower lashes. Take silver glitter on a small brush and press onto the center of the lid, creating a slightly diagonal line toward the outer of the eye.

Silvery-Blue Ocean Eyes

Silver and blue are an icy-cool match made in eyeshadow heaven. The shade Kyanite is a bright, almost-turquoise blue with teeny silver glitters throughout. I use this shade along with Opal and Sapphire (shimmery navy) to create an ocean-inspired eye look.

Buff Sapphire into the crease and through the lower lashline. Tap Kyanite onto the centre of the lid and carry it down through to the middle of the lower lashline. Tap Opal into the inner third of the eyes until it’s as opaque as you can get it. Add mascara abd skip the lashes for a more natural look. Use a clean brush to smooth the edges and finish the face with a glowy bronzer and wet-look gold highlight.

Tip: navy and blue shadow can be tough to cover if it happens to fall onto your cheeks. For easy clean-up, do your eyes first and base second.

Silver and Black Smoky Eyes (Cheat’s Version)

Back in the 2000’s and 2010’s, the epitome of school prom glam was a black smoky eye with silvery-white accents. I was the go-to gal for doing my friend’s makeup and I would bust out my black Lancome single eyeshadow and tiny pot of Clinique loose glitter so proudly.

Here in 2022 I am far less patient so I require an easier black smoky eye, thanks very much. Here’s how I do it:

  • Start with the eyes first (an easy clean-up after any rogue glitter)
  • Take a black kohl eyeliner and draw a generous line along the upper and lower lash lines (do one eye at a time to avoid premature setting)
  • Take a stubby brush and smudge the liner so that it creates a hazy, smokey, lived-in look
  • Take a black, charcoal, or even deep grey or navy shadow and buff it over your smudged liner and up toward the crease
  • Take your silver glitter on your ring finger and tap it onto the center of the lid
  • Finish the eyes with an overkill of mascara!

4 Matte Eyeshadow Looks To Try https://liveglam.com/4-matte-eyeshadow-looks-to-try/ https://liveglam.com/4-matte-eyeshadow-looks-to-try/#respond Fri, 11 Mar 2022 23:52:37 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043264353 The new LiveGlam eyeshadow palette has got us all fired up about pure matte looks. The You’re A Gem palette has answered all my prayers with my favorite colors now in eyeshadow form: lilac, mint, tangerine, and fuschia. Find me in my room, experimenting!

Here are 4 matte eyeshadow looks to try asap.

Bright pink graphic wing

The shade Ruby is the most incredible bright, matte pink that can be used in a multitude of ways. My current obsession is to create a sharp, graphic wing with this shade, keeping the lower lashes clean. Here’s how:

  • Apply a layer of grippy eyeshadow primer or cream shadow that matches your skin tone
  • Lay a credit card, piece of paper, or eyeshadow stencil from the outer corner of your eye to the end of your brow.
  • Using a stubby brush, pack the color onto the lid up to the crease
  • Take a Q-tip soaked in a little makeup remover and use it to sharpen the edges and corners to create a bold wing
  • Add mascara and lashes

Matte orange with gold liner

Amber is such a gorgeous shade for tanned or deep skin tones, especially when matched with a glitzy gold liner.

For this look, I simply buff Amber all over the lid and through the crease, using a clean brush to blend the edges. Buff the color into the lower lash line and connect it at the outer corners. You could also use a little Topaz (paler orange) to add some dimension to the lower lash lines and center of the lid.

Take a metallic gold liner along the upper lash line, creating a subtle wing at the outer corner. Add black or deep brown mascara.

Minty jade buffed through the upper and lower lashes

Jade is a cool, refreshing minty shade that looks amazing on any complexion. I use this as my lazy-day shade as it’s so gorgeous all on its own. All I do is buff it through the upper and lower lash lines without going too far toward the crease. I add black mascara (and plenty of it) and pair with a soft pink gloss or balm on the lips.

Matte purple 1960s crease with black falsies

Ametrine is my new all-time favorite eyeshadow. As soon as you see it you’ll think “1960s”!

Here’s what you can do at home:

  • Apply a layer of grippy eyeshadow primer or cream shadow that matches your skin tone
  • Press a matte white shadow over the lid
  • Buff Ametrine into the crease and into the lower lashes
  • Fill the waterline in with a matte white liner
  • Add a bold black wing and dramatic falsies
  • Pair with a pale pink lipstick

How To Blend Eyeshadow Correctly https://liveglam.com/how-to-blend-eyeshadow-correctly/ https://liveglam.com/how-to-blend-eyeshadow-correctly/#respond Sat, 12 Feb 2022 00:41:11 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043241408 Eyeshadow, as much as we love it, can be a right pain when it doesn’t go our way. Even eyeshadow pros can have an off day when the shades don’t fuse, the pigments are patchy, and the look just won’t comply.

If you feel like your eyeshadow game is lacking, or you’re just starting out with eye looks, here’s a beginner-friendly guide for how to apply and blend eyeshadow correctly.

Start with the right tools and materials

You know those little plastic and foam applicator thingies that used to come in eyeshadow palettes? Toss them, they’re completely useless to you. The truth is, the right brushes will not only make your eyeshadow application miles easier but they will result in a far more professional-looking finish.

Morphe brushes are all you need, as they are affordable yet super quality. Start off with only a couple and build from there. I’m going to be really biased here and recommend my favorites to you, as I use them every day and can attest to their effectiveness!

Here’s my starter brush pack pick:

  • M332 Fluffy Crease Brush: it’s super soft and does the work for you, leaving you with a diffused crease.
  • M504 Large Pointed Blender: you can sweep this brush, clean, over the edges of your work and it blends perfectly. Plus, it’s great for adding dimension to the eye by simply buffing bronzer into the crease.
  • E13 Oval Shadow Fluff: this wee brush is perfect for buffing color onto the lid to achieve bold pigmentation, but it can also help to blend your edges.
  • M443 Pointed Liner: this has a stiff enough construction and pointed tip to allow for winged liner (gel or liquid) or pressing powder shadow into the lash line for a softer liner look.

When it comes to shimmers and glitters, I believe the best tool is your finger, so I haven’t included a flat packer brush.

Lay down a base color or primer

A base that sits underneath your eyeshadow helps the powders to blend more smoothly and reduces patchiness. What’s more, it can help the shadows show up true to color (how they look in the pan) with maximum saturation.

You don’t necessarily need a fancy eyeshadow primer. If you have a longwear cream shadow in a tone that matches your skin, use that! My go-to is forever the MAC Paintpot in Painterly. Otherwise, you can use a concealer that is reasonably dry. Note that if you have oily eyelids, concealer can make the issue worse and cause creasing. In this case, set the concealer with a little translucent powder.

Contour that crease

Start by buffing a neutral tone into the crease of your eye to create depth and provide a transition shade for any other colors you may be using. Match the color to the look you are going for. For example, if you’re trying a shimmery copper-brown eye, use a neutral or warm brown shadow in the crease. If you’re opting for a cool-toned smokey eye, a cool taupe or deeper grey would work.

Use a medium-to-large fluffy shadow brush and use windscreen wiper motions to buff the color into the crease and toward the outer end of the eyebrow. Wipe off any excess shadow from the brush so that it is clean and use to blend and smooth the edges. You can also buff a little of the same shade along the lower lash line for a smokier effect.

Stand back and look. Is the depth of color the same on both sides? What about the placement, does it match? Are there any weird patches or skipping? If so, blend out again.

Pack color onto the lid

To be honest, you could absolutely call it a day after buffing a lovely transition shade into the crease. Add a little liner and mascara and attack the day. Who are we kidding, though? We want to do all the fun, sparkly things!

To add extra texture and color, you can take a brighter or lighter shade and pack it onto the mobile lid (between the lashes and the crease). Coat your ring finger in shadow and press onto the mobile lid until you reach the saturation and shape you like. Take a fluffy brush (the one you used earlier is perfect) and gently blend the edges into the transition shade.

Define the lash line

You don’t need scary liquid liners or risky gel pots to get a defined lash line. In fact, you can use a dark matte shadow! Coat a small, stubby brush with matte shadow in a black, charcoal, chocolate, or even navy shade. Press the brush directly into the lash line and give it a little wiggle to deposit that lovely pigment. Smudge over the line to make it cohesive, stand back, and add more if need be. You can also do this with an eye pencil, of course. Now your lashes look thicker and your eyes are more defined…no messy liquid to cause a makeup-related breakdown.

Add light

Adding a jot of light to your eye look is a beautiful way to make you look more awake and to add soft dimension to the look. Take a silver, gold, or champagne shimmer shade and press it into the inner corner of the eye and right on the center of the mobile lid. Press the edges with your fingers to ensure soft edges and a soft transition between light and shade. You can also take a small brush and dust a little shimmer under the brows to add structure to the eye, but go easy…a little goes a long way.

Blend

Now that your shadows and colors have been applied and the look is almost complete, stand back and take a look. Use your clean fluffy brush to blend out the edges and buff away any harsh lines or uneven pigmentation.

How to Create a Reverse Cat Eye Look https://liveglam.com/how-to-create-a-reverse-cat-eye-look/ https://liveglam.com/how-to-create-a-reverse-cat-eye-look/#respond Sat, 12 Feb 2022 00:11:23 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043241384 Makeup trends come and go, but some really make us sit up and listen. The reverse cat eye has charmed the TikTok’ers, grammers, and ‘tubers across the beauty-verse, and we can see why! By placing that thick, dramatic winged line along the lower lash, the look takes on even more drama and an editorial aesthetic. The reversal of the line creates a super feline, slinky shape to the eye, perfect for high-profile nights out.

Here’s how to create a reverse cat eye! Check out our TikTok demo to get the visuals.

What you’ll need:

  1. Your choice of matte or satin eyeshadow. Any deeper color works! I love to use the warm shades Camera and Glamazing in the Glammer palette.
  2. Eyeliner that’s suitable for the waterline
  3. An eyeshadow base or neutral eyeshadow
  4. Mascara
  5. A stubby, angled eyeshadow brush like this one
  6. Concealer for tidying

The method:

  1. Prep the upper lid with an eyeshadow base or neutral cream or powder shadow
  2. Draw your liner along the lower waterline making sure to extend it to the inner and outer corners. Don’t worry about being super tidy!
  3. Take your eyeshadow color of choice on your stubby brush and use small strokes to draw along the lower lash line
  4. Extend the color into the inner corner as though it is starting from the very innermost part of the upper lid. Create a soft wing shape
  5. Extend the color to create a wing at the outer corner, angling upward
  6. Use your concealer and a flat concealer brush or angled liner brush to clean and sharpen those inner and outer wings
  7. Add your mascara and/or lashes and you’re done!

Tip: For extra dimension, you could add a teeny sweep of shadow through the upper crease. However, I think the look looks best when the upper lid is clean, with a sculpted brow and lots of lashes. This way, the drama of that reverse wing is all the more eye-catching.

Best Valentine’s Day Eyeshadow Looks https://liveglam.com/best-valentines-day-eyeshadow-looks/ https://liveglam.com/best-valentines-day-eyeshadow-looks/#respond Sat, 12 Feb 2022 00:03:24 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043241375 Another Valentine’s Day is here. Singles, don’t despair; you don’t need to be coupled-up to celebrate and enjoy the day as self love and friend love 100% count. If anything, the holiday is simply an excuse to try a new eyeshadow look (HA! As if we need a reason).

Here are our favorite Valentine’s Day eyeshadow looks.

Gold glitter halo eye

I’m picturing a romantic, goddess-worthy eyeshadow look featuring gold glitter on the center lid and surrounded by rich chocolate shadow. For this look, I use Glammer Liner in Legend

  • Lay down your eyeshadow base or concealer
  • Pat a mid-toned brow shade (relative to your skin color) over the entire lid
  • Buff a dark chocolate brown shade through the crease and under the lash line
  • Dab a small patch of concealer right in the center of the mobile lid and blend the edges
  • Take your gold glitter on your finger and dab over the concealer until you achieve the desired saturation of glitter
  • Finish with mascara and outer-corner falsies

Perfect with: champagne gloss and gold highlight (early 2010’s style kapow highlight, that is).

Soft pink shimmer

Pinks are welcome on Valentine’s Day, obviously (really rocking the boat here aren’t I?). I’m imagining a soft, diffused eyeshadow look with depth created using shadows as opposed to liner. Romantic, “I’m so in love I’m floating” inspired eyes.

  • Lay down your eyeshadow base or concealer
  • Buff a shade like Rosie Posie from the He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not palette over the lid, through the crease, and through the lower lashline
  • Take a shimmery pink such as Blossom and use your finger to tap it over the mobile lid, adding more light layers until you achieve an opaque shimmer
  • Add depth with a deeper pink or plum (such as Hu$tla from the Boujee palette) and buff it through the crease and into the outer V of the eye
  • Pop a little gold or champagne shimmer into the inner corner
  • A little splash of silver glitter on the very center of the lid would lift this look to further heights.
  • Add the fluffiest of falsies

Sexy cat-eye

Get your sultry on and bedazzle that date with the sexiest eyes you can muster (with help from makeup, you can only Smize so much). A jet-black cat eye still stands firm at number one on the list of the most R-rated eye looks. Here’s how.

  • Lay down your eyeshadow base
  • Pat a matte, skin-matching shadow over the entire lid
  • Buff a deep chocolate (for a warm look) or charcoal (for a cooler look) through the crease and extend it outward to create an elongated shape. The color should finish approximately where the outer tip of your brow sits.
  • Take a black liner gel on a liner brush or a very sharp kohl pencil and start to line your upper and lower lash lines, staying close to the lash roots
  • From the outer third of the upper lid, start to thicken the line as you extend it outward and upward into a sharp wing
  • Connect the wing to the lower lash line
  • Clean and sharpen the wing using a Q-tip soaked in makeup remover
  • Add a little champagne, silver, or gold shimmer to the inner corner and the brow bone
  • Add mascara and falsies

Perfect with: sculpted cheeks and nude lips

Ready to set the mood for the day of love?

What Color Eyeshadow Goes With Red or Pink Lips https://liveglam.com/what-color-eyeshadow-goes-with-red-or-pink-lips/ https://liveglam.com/what-color-eyeshadow-goes-with-red-or-pink-lips/#respond Fri, 31 Dec 2021 01:15:50 +0000 https://liveglam.com/?p=10043197579 There are many red and pink lipsticks in my collection for two main reasons: they look fabulous and they make me feel amazing. A rich red makes me feel powerful and dramatic while cheerful pink makes me feel feminine and modern.

The pressing question is…what color eyeshadow goes with red or pink lips? The answers are manyfold, as at the end of the day it does come down to personal preference. However, some tried and true combos never fail…

YOUR neutral (taupe, tan, brown, chocolate, black)

Best for: pairing very bright, opaque, and attention-stealing reds and pinks

Product idea: the Birthday Suit palette has a neutral shadow for most skin tones, with some sparkly little extras.

If your red or pink lipstick is a real statement maker and takes focus, the best approach is to go for a more downplayed eye. I like to think of it as adding dimension and structure as opposed to adding color for color’s sake.

To add dimension, the best colors are your nudes. For example, very pale skin with cool undertones would choose a neutral taupe-brown, while warm tanned skin could choose a mid-toned bronze shade. Very deep and cool skin could choose a cool, deep coffee shadow while deep warm skin could choose warm chocolate or the deepest copper.

Tip: lay down a skin-matching cream shadow or primer over the entire lid. Take a large, fluffy crease brush and simply buff your neutral shadow into the crease and along the lower lash line. Add mascara and leave it at that!

Red or Pink

A post shared by DAFINË NEZIRI (@dafineneziri)

Best for: softer lipstick textures such as lip stains and diffused mattes. Also great with more sheer products such as glosses and balms.

Product ideas: the Whimsical Garden palette has some incredibly flattering and easy-to-use pink and red shadows.

A monochromatic red or pink look is fresh, modern, pretty, and actually very flattering when properly blended. If there is a lot of redness in your skin I would steer clear of red eyeshadows as they can give you the “hayfever” look. However, peachy pink shadows or even a hot fuschia can be a little more wearable. Those with dark skin tones or warm tans are lucky as they can go a little brighter and bolder with red and pink pigments.

Tip: cancel out any redness or uneven skin tone with a concealer to create a cohesive base for pink and red products. Use a fluffy blender brush to create a soft and diffused eye look for a romantic aesthetic. For this, matte pigments are ideal, with a little pearl or gold shimmer added to the inner corner and tops of the cheeks. If you have a pinky-peach or red-based blush, buff it into the cheeks, temples, and into the crease of the eye for a monochromatic draped look. If in doubt or in a pinch? Use a dab of your lip color onto the cheeks and eyelids for warmth and cohesion.

Copper and Bronze

Best for: any pink lipsticks, glosses, or stains.

Product idea: the Birthday Suit palette comes to the rescue once again! Neutral mattes and shimmery golds and bronzes perfectly pair with pink kissers.

This is more for the pink lipstick wearers out there as copper and bronze shades are magical partners for rosy lips. This combo is fresh, modern, and pretty on all skin tones. Because bronze and copper are earthy shades, they make a statement without pulling focus or causing an unfortunate clash.

Tip: take bright, metallic shimmery copper or bronze shadow and use a liner brush and some mixing medium to create a line along the upper lashes. Pop a hit of gold shimmer in the inner corner and add plenty of mascara.

You could also buff a warm brown shadow into the crease and buff it into the lower lashline, focusing on a diffused and hazy finish. Use your finger to press copper shimmer onto the mobile lid for a glint of eye-catching metal.

Black and White

A post shared by Masooma (@masooma.hashim)

Best for: any red or pink lip color, especially for a striking formal look or when you feel like sporting fresh, clean lines.

Product idea: the Les do Makeup x LiveGlam palette contains a velvety matte black shadow and a sumptuous pearl shimmer!

And finally…black and white!

Picture a matte or satin white shadow buffed over the lid with a little taupe in the crease for structure. The white adds a fresh, clean wash of snowy hue and makes the eye pop against any skin tone. Take a black gel or liquid liner and draw along the upper lash line from inner corner to outer corner, slightly winging at the outer.

As kids, we doused ourselves in body glitter and slathered it over our hair. As teens we put it on our cheeks for parties. In our twenties we wear it to festivals and dance in the sun.

In our thirties and beyond, glitter still has a place…and that place is our eyelids! Here are four wearable glitter eyeshadow looks to try, no matter your age, no matter the occasion. For these looks we used the gorgeously glittery Boujee eyeshadow palette

Lavender and Silver Ice

Cool-toned lavender ‘Designer Drip’ works on any skin tone and is just flat-out pretty. This shimmery, glittery shade packed onto the lid and buffed into the lower lash line is ideal for a fresh spring/summer evening look.

To up the glitz, add Glammer Liner in ‘Glammed’ either along the crease, along the upper lashes, or simply dabbed in the center of the lid. Use a clean fluffy brush to blend the edges of your lavender liner for a diffused look.

To give it a little extra dimension, buff a taupe or cool chocolate shadow into the crease and along the lower lashes.

Mauve and Taupe Smokey Glitter

Cool taupe is an underrated shade, in my opinion! One of the all-time best taupe shades is ‘Posh’ from the Boujee palette, with a stoney gray undertone. Buff this shade onto the lid, through the crease, and along the lower lashes, blending thoroughly (cool mattes need a little extra blending time).

Take ‘Flossy’ and pack it onto the inner third of the lid for a little gleam and slight warmth. Then, take ‘Sugar, Sugar’, (the sweetest mauve/multi glitter) and pack it onto the center of the lid. Finish off by smudging black or charcoal liner into the upper lash line and adding mascara.

Sage and Gold Daytime Glitz

‘Diamond’ is a shade that could easily be mistaken for silver, but has the prettiest glittery sage-green tone you don’t often see in palettes. Right beneath is ‘She’s Expensive’, a glittery pale gold shade perfect for daytime glamour. Fuse these two beauties by buffing ‘Diamond’ over the entire lid, with a little bronzer in the crease for structure. Press ‘She’s Expensive’ into the inner corner and onto the center of the lid. Draw Glammer Liner in ‘Legend’ along the upper lash line and add a chocolate-brown mascara for soft daytime glam.

Rosy Pink Femme Eyes

Pink, rosy-toned eye looks are welcome all year round. These tones make green and blue eyes pierce and can be transitioned easily from day to night. Add a little extra depth in the crease and pack more glitter onto the center of the lid when the sun goes down…voila.

For this look, buff ‘Hu$tla’ into the crease and along the lower lashes, buffing out with a fluffy brush. Pack ‘Jet Setting’ onto the lid and fuse it with the color in the crease and lower lashes. Take ‘Rose’ on your finger and press into the center of the lid and the inner crease. Finish with fluffy falsies, plenty of pink blush, and a soft pink lip.
